I always enjoy checking out UI (user interface) concepts. I am both a sucker for eye-candy, visual development and good usability. If someone has done their homework then you can always see it. The team at Mag+ have hit a visual development schema that will influence ebooks of the future. Although their design definately works for magazines I don’t want to see this design implemented for textbooks.

Sure we have all seen thermal imaging goggles in the movies. The idea and concept are great however they in reality wont see through well insulated buildings at least not like Hollywood would like you to believe. However a University of Utah student has demonstrated a project in which that very scenario could occur. Like all early projects the implementation is not practical. However that is the job of a good engineer, to make technology practical. So check out the video of Joey Wilson and Neal Patwari demonstrating the implementation of a radio telemetry array to track motion through a wall.
