Catching My Soul

Recently I have been reading Robert Bolt’s A Man of All Seasons. My new hero, a man of great honor and integrity, Sir Thomas More. My own religious upbringing aside, Thomas More’s take as a humanist and man loyal to his faith and his friends makes him one of the most inspirational people I have ever read about. My thoughts and feelings on his virtues can be reflect by this song. I think of the deep sorrow that man felt as he left the tower of London to die and his final moments of reflection as he cried out before his death, “I beg you earnestly to pray for the king, tell him I died the King’s good servant, but God’s First.” I dedicate this song to those who are of good faith and kindness yet who have lost their internal struggles with whatever demons might haunt them. The Fleet Foxes say my feelings best in Your Protector
