I have to apologize to my readers. Recently my ex and her family have been hacking my site. They keep taking it down and I will keep putting it up. I apologize for the craziness that is my ex and her family. Anyhow onto other more positive things. Recently I was introduced to the music of Damien Rice. I am going to share a song full of what I like to call the beautiful sadness. The lyrics of this song is about cheating and throwing the old relationship and person out like the trash. I do have to say this person has a heart unlike the cheater I knew.
And The Sea is Very Still Once More
This song is very old it was covered by the Platters and the Righteous Brothers. Generally I am not a fan of covers however I love the remake of this song, and believe the tone set by Bonnie “Prince” Billy covers this song in the right fashion. The poetry and lull of the music match so well that the peace, sadness, and happiness are all reflected deeply in harmony of word and music. Here is Bonnie “Prince” Billy covering Ebb Tide:

Rock Out!
This is fantastic there is not much I can say about this drummer. He reminds me of a guy I once knew in marching band back in the day. Enjoy.
Have You Seen My Ghost?
Back in the motherland of Canada there is a great band. They dont get very much press down here in the US but they have a fantastic sound. You can hear a little of the Maritime influence but they have a more mainstream sound combined with the deep multi-layer lyrics. Wintersleep is a great representation of Nova Scotia:
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Recently I was watching the barely controversial video of the new Microsoft Kin. Please Microsoft if you want an item to become controversial try ‘losing’ your iPhone. The biggest thing I noticed about the ad was the music. Off I went to trusty youtube to find a the band. The band that has losely been around since 2005 is Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. They are great. They play some great instrumental music. They remind me of another bad that I love Cuff the Duke that has their own extremely unique sound using a vibraphone.

The Pale Blue Dot
There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than the distant image of our tiny world. It underscore the importance of need to be more kindly with one-another and to preserve and cherish the only home we have ever known…the pale blue dot.
Modern Warfare
So lately I have a little addition. Probably one of the best video games I have ever played, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Recently a co-worker of mine told me that she let her sons play this game. I am extremely surprised that parents would let their child play a game that has the most realistic killing I have ever seen. All my comments aside I came across a video based on Modern Warfare. It is pretty good since the cost of the video was $210 to make.
Mat's Ride
About nine months ago I was asked to help out on a very small NPO. They needed an IT guy to develop a site for them, setup and to maintain their systems. I have forgotten what is it like to be the single point of contact for an IT guy. In a small business it means you do everything for everyone and if you dont know how you better learn quickly. Specialization is not an option and it feels as though it takes 10 times as long to get anything done since half the time you are scrambling around to do something you haven’t done in quite awhile. Remotely working on everything has become a little bit of a challenge yet I have found some great open source tools for support the entire NPO from servers to desktops.
In The Garden Snake Was A Charmin'
Here is a song that comes from an Irish band that I love. It is a little on the mellow side. The lyrics a good representation of Irish poets. I have always felt that good poetry comes from reminiscing of our strongest emotions. To reach the highest peaks of emotions you have to know the lowest lows. The paradox of this duality of emotion is the human condition at the worse and best. Irish poetry seems to ooze from a country that has see so much pain for so long. Here is Bell X 1 performing Eve, The Apple of My Eye:
